So I put off writing this review because there’s not much to say, well. I ordered a bottle of Astroglide glycerin and paraben free to use primarily when I have to bring it in college with my Diva Cup.
If Astroglide got one thing right on this one, it’s the bottle. Coming in at just 2.5 ounces, it’s the perfect size to put in your bag or purse, and it’s also small enough to fly in your carry-on! The top on the bottle is a very safe flip top, so you’re not going to have to worry about leaking all over your fresh shoes, etc. I’ve been carrying it once in my bag so far and discovered no problems. It’s large enough to locate when you need it, even if you’re carrying one of those one-pocket-catch-all totes, and tiny enough not to take up a lot of space and not shout, “Hi! Insert name here] in his / her pocket has a lube!”You are less probable to get a UTI or a yeast infection from its use because it is glycerin-free and paraben-free. This lube, however, has a tiny issue–its odor. It smells chemically a little bit, which I find strange to see as it is free of glycerin and paraben. Shouldn’t it smell less chemically? I wish it was more like Toyfluid, not smelling at all.
Even though it’s glycerin-free, after a couple of minutes it still receives that sticky sensation like sugar lubes do. It also dries up after about 5 minutes, frequently requiring re-application. This makes me wonder whether this lube is better than some of the lubes containing glycerin. Have glycerin been substituted by something just as sticky and bad for you? Because I’m not a lubes expert, I can’t tell which ingredients are good and which aren’t, but I hope that’s not the case.
I’m giving it a 2/5 in all. I’m likely going to keep this in my bag to bring it in my Diva Cup and out of my bedroom.
